What image editing program do you use? Do you have any prior experience with editing scans?
If you want to spread the word the best way would probably be to share our tumblr recruitment post.

I have used both Photoshop and Paint. Though I haven't edited scans for anything serious, I have edited scans for things like signatures and jokes. Things like taking one page from a manga here or there, but I wouldn't call myself experienced or professional when it comes to image editing.

Stick with Photoshop. This is a Paint-free project. I guess we could have you try out for a position as a typesetter by having you typeset a few random PokéSpe raw scans.

Alright. I'll do my best, and if that isn't enough, I'll be on the sidelines improving and supporting.

And you could always be a quality checker.

I'd love to contribute in any way that I can. I have some experience with photoshop, and am currently taking a class for it but I have no prior experience with editing scans, nor do I think I would do best as a type setter, other than the placement. I'm not the greatest with fonts and size, but I'd be willing to do some proof-reading here and there.

Hey, this sounds interesting, so I'm in.

I have a good bit of experience with Photoshop (and InDesign, would that help?), a little bit of Japanese knowledge, and though I've never done any cleaning/typesetting myself, I'm definitely interested in learning. I also mod pokespe-fanart.tumblr.com, so I can do advertising if that's needed. The only problem is that I'm not sure how much time I'll have to spare, but if anyone needs an extra hand then I'd be happy to help!

Oh, and I think someone mentioned fonts; I have all the fonts that /a/non mentioned on his tutorials, so if anyone needs them I can upload them somewhere.

Nice to have you on board. What is the Chinese 'sign' for translator? I thought that I would make a Chinese version of the translator emblem, since the current version has the Japanese 'sign' for translator.

You mean "characters"? XD It's "翻譯員"

You know what? I have an idea: Add the perspective language for the specific language on top of the three characters. For example: For a Chinese translator like me we can add "中文" (Chinese) on the top of "翻譯員". Japanese, if I remember correctly on kenji, would be "日本語" (Japanese). How 'bout that?

I would have to edit all emblems then to make the symbols and the text begin at the same pixel. And then I would want to add 'Chinese' and 'Japanese' to the emblem text as well to make the translation accurate. I think there might not be enough space for that and I rather keep the emblem text just as 'Translator'. And getting the text to begin on the same pixel for all emblems would be impossible then without redoing all emblems with a smaller font size, because of the amount of space the 'Quality Checker' text takes up. It's a good suggestion though, but I think I will pass.
