Hello everyone, I've just register and I was wondering if you still needed a french-to-english translator.
I am french and I think my english level is enough for this task, however I've never participate in such project so I don't know how this works ( do I have to get the french version myself ? Where do I post my translation once I finished it? etc...).
If you are interested, please explain me how I am suppose to do it.

Yes, we are still recruiting French translators. We have French scans, so you don't have to have the volume. Translations should be uploaded to Google Drive in a Google document and be shared with the Team Special Scans Google Group (tutorial).

The only French chapter we have to translate at the moment is chapter 46 (by Kurokawa's numbering). Yugnat is translating it, so I'll ask him if he needs any help. You can probably at least translation check his translation once it is done.

The new user Keekarak is an IRL friend of mine who's going to scan the rest of v44 for me.

Could whoever it was that helped me figure out what settings to use for scanning contact him with the same purpose?

When scanning something for Team Special Scans, scan it to PNG-files. If the scanner can't scan to PNG, scan it to uncompressed TIFF-files (make sure that it's uncompressed TIFF and not compressed).
Colour pages should be scanned in 600 DPI and black and white pages should be scanned between 300 and 360 DPI (the highest possible number between those two).
When scanning debound pages you should put a black paper on the other side of the page you are scanning. That will do so that the back side of the page won't be visible through the front side of the page.

We have Pokémon Special BW chapter 49 (by Kurokawa's numbering) in French that needs a translation. However, currently many of our cleaners are busy, the cleaning is hard since the scans are bent and not debound and we are prioritizing volume chapters over magazine chapters. So there's a very real possibility that the volume version of that chapter could be published by Shogakukan before we have released the magazine version of the chapter. Just so you know.

You live in China? Great! Then you could maybe get magazine RAWs for us via taobao.com (should be about $2.7 per magazine, if I remember correctly). I think that they even sell the Japanese magzines.

Raws are original Japanese manga, not translated into any other languages, if I'm not mistaken. There's also vol 47 too

Yeah like zorua said, RAWs are scans of the manga in it's original language.
Pokémon Special in Japanese is ポケットモンスターSPECIAL

We are working on getting volume 44 scanned, but volume 45+ and magazine chapters are something that we would like to have scans of. One of our members has said that he will take care of volume 45, so that volume should be under controll.
Magazine chapters are very hard for us to obtain while our American members can easily get the volumes, so if you could get the magazines that would be great. If you are willing to get the magazines for us we would prefer if you could debind them before you scan them. Are you ok with that?

I have no idea. You should ask a cleaner. I suggest that you ask some. He also delt with quite a lot of bleeding issues in chapter 457, in case you need some advice about fixing bleeding scans as well.
