Re: Credit images
I'm done with the the recruitment image. I choose to upload it to JB's site, because the forum gallery would have resized it. It turned out better than I thought it would. I replaced the stars in uncle Sam's hat with Poké Balls, since that fits the theme better.
I thought I would make a donation image as well for when Nora has made a donation pool for magazine raws.
I thought that I might put Jack Sparrow, a treasure chest and some pirate talk on the donation image. Any opinions? My humor tends to suck sometimes.

Also, I didn't add quality checkers to the recruitment note since six quality checkers is quite good already and I think we would get quite many applicants if I would mention it in the recruitment image. If we get a few more quality checkers via the recruitment posts that's fine, but if I would have added it to the recruitment note we would get a lot more than we need.

XD yeah, for now we need translators the most, but more typesetters, cleaners, TC and a magazine raw provider are also fine.

Manga Reader X wrote:Version 1 of the credit image is done... in Photoshop! I finally figured some stuff out and redid the whole logo as well, so now the text looks better. I made it in the exact same size as the scans, but I have the PSD so, I can change size, font and more if needed.
- Spoiler:
If I can just figure out how to turn white into transparent with Photoshop, we could finally get the forum banner, or at lest a temporary version of it.
You can use the Magic Eraser/Background Eraser, though I don't know if it's in other versions of Photoshop (I'm using Elements 9). The Background Eraser works like its name, it erases the background of the layer so that the layer below shows through. If you use it on the background layer it'll turn transparent. The Magic Eraser works like the Background Eraser, but it erases in large chunks (by means of finding similar colors, i.e. if a white section is clicked any white parts connected to that section will also be erased).

Re: Credit images
Thanks I will try that next time. This time I just changed the white background layer in the PSD to a transparent one.

This is beta 1 of the donation image: https://2img.net/h/s23.postimg.cc/6s4ccneka/Donation_image.jpg
The image has been resized from 3754 x 5000 pixels to 1802 x 2400 pixels. The image has also been compressed with pngquant via PNGoo. The original filesize was 13.6 MB. The current filesize is 2.26 MB. (The Photoshop document is 101 MB, not kidding.)
I will add a link to a donation thread once CodeNora has set up the donation pool and made such a thread.
It's been a while since I saw a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, so I had to watch some 'Best of Jack Sparrow' videos on YouTube and watch / read some talk like a pirate tutorials in order to try to imitate Jack Sparrow and the pirate lingo. I think it turned out ok for a beta 1 version.
EDIT:
Well, it looks like postimg auto-converted it to JPG and resized the image. I'll just have to add a better quality version that has not been touched by postimg into our releases.

XD lolz o'l Jack Sparrow, how long has it been since I've seen him. Too bad the 4th movie kinda sucked compared to the other 3. But he still rocks, together with his rum, ship and his hat that he adores so much.
Re: Credit images
I thought that I might change "a bunch of rascals calling themselves Team Special Scans" to "a crew called Team Special Scans". Which one do you guys prefer?

I agree. Here is the improved beta 2: https://2img.net/h/s12.postimg.cc/cyb4e3zss/Donation_image.jpg
Do you think I should change "Donations will go to getting Pokémon Special magazine raws" to "Donations will go to gettingrum Pokémon Special magazine raws"? Maybe that would cause some doubt about our credibility, but on the other hand, it's just a joke.

Ok. Does anyone know how to get a strikethrough in Photoshop? I can't find it.

Thanks. Here is beta 3: https://2img.net/h/s22.postimg.cc/vda4zj3o0/Donation_image.jpg
I'm wondering what max resolution we should set for the recruitment image and the donation image. Maybe 2400p for future high resolution scanlations and 1200p for the Chinese low resolution magazine scanlations?

For which image? I am developing the recruitment image and the donation image. The credit image development can be found here (I know, everything is off-topic).

Re: Credit images
I have now found a good lossless image compressor and an image hosting site that allows huge images and preserves original filenames. I also made the recruitment note wider, so that it wouldn't be so narrow. So here are the recruitment note and the donation note in their full unresized glory:
http://ultrashare.net/hosting/fl/f48e0823f4
http://ultrashare.net/hosting/fl/6c7d054860
The donation image still misses a URL, since CodeNora hasn't made the donation page yet.
I think I will resize these images to 1200p for low resolution scanlations, such as the Chinese magazine scanlations and resize them to 2400p for high resolution scanlations, which is pretty much everything else.
