Unicode Problem

After looking at the Meloetta chapter's result, this brings me to a really important matters I need to discuss with all typesetters and QCs here: Unicode.

Some people here might be using a computer that doesn't have East Asian language packs installed in their computer, and when opening the text document with East Asian language like Chinese and Japanese, words and characters might not be shown properly and it might ended up in small boxes. And sometimes those Chinese and Japanese punctuation marks might be added into the English translation and being typesetted along. And this happens:

Check panel 2 and 4, notice there are some boxes mixed in the dialogue? Those are supposed to be hyphens typed as Chinese characters accidentally and shown improperly in the typesetter's computer. This brings us to a very important request from me as a translator:

Please, to all typesetters out there, if you see strange boxes in the dialogue in your script file, please contact the translator before typesetting them into the manga itself as is. The cause of this issue might be an improper or missing language text packs that caused it to show improperly. The translators (like me) might have a different meaning under the boxes that can be fixed by changing them into English txts.

I couldn't even see the file, it says it couldn't locate the original font. I'd like to know more about this issue, could you post a pic of it?

I was not the one to typeset that chapter, I only changed the fonts. My PC is set to support Japanese. I'll also look more closely so this doesn't happen again.

I think it's the font used for the pages that doesn't support the characters. A simple copy/paste to a Notepad could make it visible quickly, I think. Overall, it's just a matter of reading the work before uploading it. Thanks for pointing that out, Max.

Heh, I only thought of it after the typesetter gave me the drive link for Meloetta chapter. Looks like I completely missed this problem because my laptop already has fully functional East Asian language packs and I took it for granted. XD

And I just noticed ><. Well better late than never. My laptop does support Chinese and Japanese, but I guess some fonts don't support it, sadly. Thought it didn't looked like that when I typesetted that chapter weird  ...
