This thread will be used to publish translations of the Chinese chapters.

In this page we have four chapters. The first one was already translated by sisselxsoleil (sisselxsoleil.tumblr.com/post/43646951991) so there are just the last three missing.

Here is a question to everybody: Should we clean and replace the sound effects or leave them as they are. I think we will need a Cleaner just to do that, since it's a hard and long work.

We should perhaps make an sticky 'Editing Guidelines' thread in the Project Discussion sub-forum that covers everything we have decided regarding how the scanlations should be edited.

I think the sound effects can be kept as is. I've seen a lot of Chinese comic myself and realized: Some of the sound effects CAN be replaced easily, but some of them are made with super-bold special fill-in fonts. For example: 15 026 in JB's Chinese scanlation, Volume 15. (This damn forum doesn't let me put up links until next week!) Notice panel 5 on page 51. That would be a prime example of un-removable effects. I suggest that the cleaners can leave them be, but if they really want to translate the sound effects as well, we can actually do it by adding translations UNDER the panel in question.

About the "sfx", i rather use little numbers, like [1], to indicate each sound below, it looks neater and better to understand.

Now the name of the main characters are pretty clear to all of us, but which version, VIZ or Chung Yi, should we use for Pokemon nicknames?

For example: Gold's Ambipom's nickname can be either Aibo (VIZ) or Ataro (CY), which version should I use?

Wait, Chuang Yi did a horrible work on Pokémon Adventures. Thank goodness now we are having Viz to translate everything properly. I'd rather use VIZ translations a thousand times.

He was talking about the nicknames. Thought Viz did a better job at translating, I hate their nicknames. I'd prefer using CY's nicknames.

Well, we could use VIZ. People are maybe a little more used to VIZ nicknames as well. I am at least.
But then again, this would seem like a more consistent continuation of /a/non's work if we mimic his style as close as possible. That could be the answer to if we are going to use honorifics or not as well.

It turns out sisselxsoleil left out about 5 pages of the first chapter so I made a quick translation of those left out pages.

To keep the typresetting more accurate, try to keep the punctuation as close to the original as possible, like, if there are two exclamation marks, use two excalmation marks. The same for texts in bold, try to make the font thicker in case it doesn't have bold/black.

Also, Mr. Teruyuki is known as Dr. Logan in English.

I removed the text from the pages to save some time. They are not fully cleaned, just don't have the text. (I also removed the SFX that were simple, written in black over white)

Max, thank you very much. I just need to ask you two things. First, we need the sound effects to indicate/replace. Second, I kept the original scanlation team's logo. Can you read their name so we can give them credit?

For the sound effect part, I'll get into it and upload it on a separate file. In the future I'll put them with the dialog when I update them. And as for the original scanlation, the Chinese name is "時代漢化組", I believe it can be translated into "Team Era of Chinese Scanlations". However, the group itself seems dead because I just tried to go to their website and they 404ed on me.

Thanks, I have a question about the first text balloon. I'm using outer glow, since it doesn't fit completely in the balloon and even size 10 doesn't fit, but it still looks a bit weird to me.
